About Dr. Aqsa
Hi, I’m Dr. Aqsa Munir. I graduated from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College in 2023, completed my house job at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, and am currently pursuing postgraduate training in Dermatology at CMH Bahawalpur. But long before completing medical school, I had already discovered another side of medicine that fascinated me: the way we communicate it.
I have been working as a medical writer for the past six years, creating and developing healthcare content for organizations and brands across the United States and Europe. I have also worked alongside hundreds of medical professionals on scientific research and publication. Over those years, I have read more medical literature than I could ever count, but I have also learned that having the right information is only half the job. The other half is knowing how to explain it to a person who may be frightened while reading it. That matters deeply to me when I write about women’s health. There is no shortage of health information online. The problem is that so much of it feels detached from the person actually experiencing the symptom. It explains the condition, but not the worry. It gives definitions, but not perspective. Sometimes it answers the medical question while completely missing the main point: “Should I actually be worried?” As a doctor and a woman, I want my articles to answer both.
When I write for Menstrual Portal, my goal is not to overwhelm you with medical terminology or simply repeat information that already exists elsewhere. I want to help you understand what your body may be telling you, what deserves attention, what may be less frightening than it seems, and when it is time to speak with a healthcare professional. Above all, I want you to finish an article feeling different from when you opened it: less uncertain, more informed, and a little more in control. Because good health information shouldn’t frighten you into reading more. It should help you understand what to do next.

What drives me
“Behind every question you search online, there is a little fear and a lot of uncertainty. I want my writing to replace that feeling with clarity, reassurance, and the comfort of knowing you understand your body a little better.”
