About Dr. Ghanwa
Hi, I'm Dr. Ghanwa Imran. I'm a graduate of Lahore Medical and Dental College in Pakistan and a licensed member of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). I completed my medical internship at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital in Lahore, which gave me my first real foundation in patient care.
From there, I completed 14 months of clinical training at Memon Medical Institute Hospital in Karachi, rotating through Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Cardiology, the High Dependency Unit, and the Emergency Department. That range of experience shaped how I think about medicine — every specialty taught me something different about how the body works and how patients experience illness. Today, I serve as a medical officer in a dialysis unit at Omar Hospital, where I manage patients living with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal failure.
I'm also ECFMG-certified and have passed all three steps of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) — a process that deepened both my clinical knowledge and my understanding of U.S. medical standards. Alongside my clinical work, I stay active in medical research and writing: I've contributed to two published systematic reviews and meta-analyses, along with four letters to the editor in peer-reviewed journals. That research background shapes how I approach health writing today — I believe every claim should be evidence-led, properly referenced, and grounded in real clinical practice, not just easy to read.

What drives me
“Menstrual health is a vital sign, not a private inconvenience. Women deserve answers that are accurate, unhurried, and free of shame — and that starts with information they can actually trust.”
