Dr. Asma Afsar is a registered medical practitioner who completed her degree from the Islamabad Medical and Dental College, Islamabad, Pakistan. After graduating, she undertook a one-year house job. This involved a six-month rotation in Medicine and Allied (Paediatrics) at the PAF Hospital, Islamabad, immediately followed by a six-month rotation in Surgery and Allied (Gynaecology and Obstetrics) at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, Islamabad.
Under the guidance of consultants during her tenure at ANTH, she deepened her expertise in women’s health, an area that has become a key focus in her practice.
Currently, Dr. Asma serves as a Women’s Medical Officer at the Government City Hospital in Talagang, where she acts as a primary healthcare provider for a diverse population. Her dedication to women’s health extends beyond her clinical practice, as she actively raises public awareness about the unique healthcare challenges faced by women. She has earned the trust of a significant number of women in her town by addressing their everyday health concerns and providing important education on menstrual and reproductive health.
