About Dr. Asma

Hi, I'm Dr. Asma Afsar. I completed my medical degree at Islamabad Medical and Dental College in Islamabad, Pakistan, followed by a full year of medical internship — six months in Pediatrics at PAF Hospital, Islamabad, and six months in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), Islamabad.

It was during that rotation at ANTH, working closely with consultants, that I developed a deep interest in women's health — an area that has stayed close to my heart ever since. I went on to serve as a Women's Medical Officer at Government City Hospital in Talagang, where I acted as a primary healthcare provider for a diverse population and worked hard to earn the trust of the women in my community, addressing their everyday health concerns and providing education on menstrual and reproductive health.

Today, I'm continuing to grow as a physician through my FCPS (Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. Even as my clinical focus broadens, the same belief guides my work as a medical author: women deserve clear, judgment-free information and the confidence to seek care whenever they need it.
