About Dr. Ferwa

Hi, I'm Dr. Ferwa Asif. My journey in medicine began at Islamabad Medical and Dental College in Islamabad, Pakistan, where I earned my medical degree, followed by my medical internship at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, also in Islamabad.

Early in my career, I worked as a Medical Officer at Hussain Clinic in Rawalpindi, where I saw firsthand how much patients benefit from a provider who takes the time to explain things clearly. That experience later brought me back to my alma mater, Islamabad Medical and Dental College, where I worked as a lecturer, helping train the next generation of physicians.

My clinical experience has also taken me internationally — I'm a registered member of the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, and I completed a clinical attachment in the Acute Medical Unit and Accident & Emergency Department within the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Building on that experience, I now serve as a Clinical Fellow at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, where I continue to grow as a clinician while staying connected to the patient-centered values that first drew me to medicine.

What drives me

In her own words

“Menstruation is a reminder that our bodies are capable of amazing things, including supporting new life. I want women to embrace their menstrual cycles as a sign of their reproductive health, and to feel comfortable seeking medical help whenever something doesn't feel right.”
